Turkish Dumplings with the Best Fillings


Turkish cuisine is famous for the best dumpling recipes. They may remind you of classical dumplings or Italian ravioli. Unlike widespread chicken dumplings, they are always cooked with pork or beef. Some cooks mix these two types of meat.

  1. If you`ve ever tried to cook dumplings or ravioli, you`ll easily cope with the process of cooking of this yummy meal. To begin with you`ll need to work with the dough.
  2. Mix 150 ml of water with the salt and eggs. Mix a smooth dough and cover the bowl with the paper towel. Leave the dough for a half an hour.
  3. Meanwhile you may get down to cooking the filling. Chop all the herbs and the half of the onion. Then you`ll need to mash beef and pork, using a meat grinder. Add raw onion and chopped green herbs.
  4. Chop the rest of the onion as well. Fry it in the pan with the small amount of the vegetable oil. To make the taste of the filling tenderer, add sliced tomatoes into the pan. Don`t forget about the spices. Add salt and pepper.
  5. Preheat the pan with the water. You`ll need about 2,5-3 l of the cold water. Add onion and tomatoes into the pan. Boil everything and add saffron.
  6. Flatten the dough and cut out the circles. Fill each one with one spoon of the meat filling. Form small pies.
  7. Cook them in the pan with the boiling vegetable broth. For cooking the dish you`ll need about 8 minutes.

That`s it. Now you`ll need to serve your yummy meal. Put vegetable broth into the deep bowl. As for the dumplings, you may serve them either in the bowl with the soup or on the big plate. Anyway, you`ll need to decorate each portion with the rest of chopped herbs. Bon Appetite!
