Instructions:
  1. To begin with, you`ll need to cook pumpkin pie filling. Wash tangerine and grate its zest. Fill the small plate with it.
  2. Squeeze the juice of the tangerines.
  3. Wash pumpkin and peel each piece. Grate it on the coarse grater and put this vegetable mass into the middle-sized bowl.
  4. Crush walnuts or cut them carefully, using a sharp knife. Add them into the empty plate as well.
  5. Cut cold butter into the small pieces. Put them into the clean plate and leave it alone as well.
  6. Separate yolks and eggs. Put the bowl with the whites into the fridge. Don`t forget to cover the plate with the plastic wrap.
  7. Sift the flour through the sieve. It`s very important not to miss this step for the dessert to be really airy and tender.
  8. Take cold egg whites out of the fridge and whip them with the pinch of salt, using a whisk or a mixer. Continue whipping until the mass if thick and white.
  9. Mix all the ingredients in the one big bowl. Add sugar, baking powder, melted butter. Finally, add grated orange zest and fresh juice. Mix everything one more time, using a spoon. Add crushed walnuts, vanilla sugar, vanilla essence and yolk. When the mass is smooth enough, add grated pumpkin and whipped whites.
  10. Fill the form with this dough. Preheat the oven to 356 F. Bake it for 30-40 minutes until there is a golden crust. Turn the oven off and take the form out of it. Leave the dish to cool down.
  11. When your sponge cake is warm, put it on the big plate. You may dust it with the sugar powder if you like.

  •         You may use oranges instead of tangerines or even combine these two types of citrus.
  •         As for the walnuts, it isn`t necessary to add them. You may cook perfect thin orange cake even without any nuts.

  •         You may also decorate the dish with the whipped cream or the melted chocolate.
