The Red Velvet Cake. One of the Most Famous Cakes, Everyone will Like!


Combination of white and red colours, tender texture and amazing taste makes Red Velvet one of the most popular desserts!
This is one of those classical American dishes, most people like. The Red Velvet Cake may be lighter or darker. The result depends on the amount of the food dye used.
Recipe of this cake was invented several centuries ago. However, it became popular after the World Word 1st. Having smaller income, people didn`t wanted to waste their money on food. However, cooks and the owners of the shops wanted to attract the attention of people. Therefore, they cooked bright beautiful Red Velvet Cakes, using beet root or its juice.
Its beautiful name was invented in 1972. James Berd included three recipes for this dessert into his book. In 80s red juice was replaces with traditional red food dye. Since than this delicious dessert is popular in the USA and Canada.

  1. Cover the form with baking paper. I also recommend you to cover the edges with butter. Preheat the oven to 356 F.
  2. Sift the flour through the sieve. Mix it with cocoa powder and salt.
  3. Whip cream, using a powerful blender. The process will take 2-3 minutes.
  4. Slowly add sugar into the bowl and mix everything one more time.
  5. Now carefully add an egg into this mass. Whip until the mass is really soft and smooth.
  6. Mix food dye with the yoghurt.
  7. Slowly add flour into the bowl with butter. Then you may add bright yoghurt. Continue whipping until the mass is smooth.
  8. Mix baking soda with lemon juice or vinegar. Mix it with the dough quickly and carefully.
  9. Whip cream cheese with soft butter. This mass should be very smooth as well.
  10. Add sugar powder and vanilla into the bowl with cream. Whip everything again. This cream should be very thick. Leave it in the fridge for several hours.
  11. Start baking the main part of the cake. Pour the dough into the form and cook for 25 minutes. When it`s ready, leave it for ten minutes to cool down. Then you may take it out of the form. Put it into the fridge again.
  12. Now it`s time to form the cake and decorate it. Put the first layer on the plate. Cover it with the yummy cream.
  13. Decorate the top of this dessert with the rest of white cake.
  14. For this dish to be really tasty, leave it in the fridge for 9-10 hours.

As soon as I saw this cake, I just fell in love with it. And you have no imagine how hard it was for me to make it. I don’t usually bake. But this time I did my best to get the same cake as the picture. And I did! The taste was amazing!
