Tasty Open Sandwiches with Cheese and Mushrooms

Delicious open faced sandwiches are one of the most popular Polish fast-food dishes. You can finds them in the most of the street food cafes and of course, you can cook this easy meal at home.

 This dish is also as yummy as pizza is. In Poland this dish is called Zapiekanka. For cooking this simple dish you need to find only several ingredients. However, all of them should be the best:

  •         Bread. This is basic ingredient. So, we recommend you using a good baguette. It should be fresh and crunchy.
  •         To make perfect mushroom topping for this snack, you can either sauté them with butter and basic combination of spices or use fresh mushrooms or add meat meat - desc learn more.... In this case, they will be low in calorie and tasty.
  •         Cheese. You can use either one particular type of cheese or a mix of them.

Instructions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F as you`ll need to bake it carefully.
  2. Melt butter in the pan. Add chopped mushrooms to this pan. Salt ald pepper them. Cook for 3-7 minutes until they are soft.
  3. In the meantime, cut your French bread in two pieces. When mushrooms are soft enough add them on the top of the bread.
  4. Add the layer of grated cheese. Transfer this snack to the tray, covered with the parchment and cook it for additional 7 minutes.
  5. If you like, you can top each sandwich with ketchup to taste.

Serve this dish immediately. It tastes better warm or hot. If you like, you can add chopped bacon on the top of each portion before baking.
