Snack Pies with Cottage Cheese and Fresh Greens


The most difficult thing about cooking these pies is to prepare nice dough. If you have enough time, you may cook traditional yeast dough. Still, there is the easier way: use sour milk and save your time.

  1. Preheat the oven to 392 F.
  2. Sift the flour through the sieve and mix it with sour milk and salt. Cover the bowl with the towel and leave it in the warm place for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Cook the filling: chop greens and cut cheese into pieces. Add grated cheese, salt, pepper.
  4. Divide the dough into several pieces. Form small thin circles.
  5. Fill each circle with tender green mass.
  6. Form pies and put them in the tray, covered with baking paper and lubricated with butter.
  7. Cover the top of each pie with the whipped egg.
  8. Cook them for 20-25 minutes.

These pies may be a nice snack. You may also eat them with the cup of hot tea or a bowl of soup. Bon Appetite!
