  1. Start making homemade tamales by soaking corn husks in hot water. Leave them in the bowl for 30 minutes so that the husks become softer.
  2. Take a large bowl and mix chopped lard with 1 tbsp of broth. Beat everything, using a powerful mixer.
  3. Mix all the dry ingredients and add them into the bowl with lard. Add more broth and mix until the dough is smooth and soft.
  4. Put the corn husks on the table and fill them with the mass. Make the layer thinner.
  5. Now cover it with the filling. Add shredded pork and chicken (it can be roasted, baked or even boiled). Grate hard cheese. Add it to the rest of the ingredients. Pour red hot sauce on the top. Form tight envelopes.
  6. Fill the instant pot with a cup of water. Place the tamales on the rack of the instant pot. Steam everything for 50-60 minutes.
