Marble Cake: Two Colours One Dessert


This cake has such an interesting name because of a combination of two colours. While cooking this dessert, we mix dark and light dough, forming interesting print. The process of cooking is easy. You only need to cook 2 types of dough and mix them. Here is short instruction for you.

  1. Melt butter and mix it with sugar.
  2. Add eggs and mix everything again.
  3. Mix baking powder, vanilla and flour. Add dry ingredients into the bowl with butter and sugar. Mix this mass well.
  4. As a result you`ll have thick and viscous dough.
  5. Pour milk into it.
  6. Divide the dough into 2 parts. Mix one with cocoa powder. This mass should be smooth and dark.
  7. Lubricate bottom and bumpers of the baking form with a small piece of butter. Form marble cake. The first layer is the half of the light dough.
  8. Cover it with ½ of dark dough. Then make two more layers.
  9. Use a toothpick or the tip of the knife to draw waves on the surface of the cake. This will help you to create that very “marble” print.
  10. Preheat the oven to 338 degrees. Put your marble cake into it and bake it for 40-50 minutes. Stick the cake with the toothpick to check whether it`s ready or not. If it is dry and clean, your dessert is ready!
