Hot Stewed Pumpkin with Meat


We`ve already posted many interesting recipes with this beautiful orange ingredient. Here is one more way to cook it. For stewing pumpkin, you do not need to be a professional cook. The recipe is very simple.

For your stew to look nice, carefully cut pumpkin into big pieces. Do not overcook them for the dish not to turned into the orange mass. If you like, you may add other vegetables to the pan with this dish. I recommend you to use the carrot. It will give your dish a tender sweet flavour.

  1. Wash pork and wipe it. Cut meat into middle-sized pieces. Peel pumpkin. Cut it into big cubes as well. Peel onion and slice it.
  2. Preheat the frying pan with the vegetable oil. Add meat into it and fry.
  3. Take another frying pan and cook pumpkin in it. Cook it until it`s golden-brown.
  4. When it`s ready, put pumpkin into the plate. Add chopped garlic and onion rings into the pan.
  5. Now, when all the ingredients are ready, mix all of them in the one pan. Add salt, pepper, spices and chopped herbs. Pour 50-100 ml of water. Boil everything and slow down the fire. Cover the pan with the lid and stew everything for 30-40 minutes. If you want your dish to be tenderer, add cream instead of water.

Your dish is ready. Serve it as a main meal. You may also serve it with mashed potato, spaghetti or even rice, if you want your dish to be more nutritious. Bon Appetite!
