Hello guys! It`s time to eat and cook apples. That`s why I want to share with you the recipe of famous apple pie with sour cream. It`s amazingly tasty, good-looking and unusual. You`ll love it`s velvety texture and sour zest. It`s not that easy to cook this pie, however the result is worth it! When I tried to do it in the first time, it was a real failure. Still, I decided to give it a second chance. It helped me to understand that I made a mistake while slicing apples. One more thing is that you need to choose the right form. Today I`ll share the secrets of the perfect apple pie with the readers of Very Tasty. I do not claim this recipe to be the best. However, I`m more than sure that you will like it!

  1. First, you need to cook shortcake dough. Take a deep bowl and put flour and baking powder into it. Grate cold butter and add it into the bowl as well.
  2. Turn this mixture of ingredients into crumbs. Your movements should be very quick for the butter not to melt.
  3. Then add sour cream into the plate.
  4. Form soft and elastic shortcake dough. Form a ball and put it into the fridge.
  5. Now you need to prepare apples. Use a grater or very sharp knife. If the slices are not too thin, there will be too much juice in the tray.
  6. If you follow my instructions, the result will amuse you. Sour cream will cover apples. As for the apple slices they will be crunchy and yummy. One more thing you need to do is to sprinkle apples with the lemon juice. In this case they won`t get dark. By the way, if you use sweet apples, this juice will give your cake sour zest.
  7. Then you need to lubricate the tray with butter and dust it with the flour. In this case, it will be easier for you to take the cake out of the tray. You may use vegetable oil instead of butter. Choose form with small bumpers. The stuffing is very wet, so, if you use another form with high bumpers, it will still be wet even when the cake is ready.
  8. Now you need to make creamy topping. Mix all the ingredients in the bowl and whip them using mixer or whisk until sugar melts.
  9. Let`s get down to forming the pie. Take the dough out of the fridge and roll it. The layer must be really thin. Put it into the tray and form wavy edges.
  10. Cover it with the thin layer of apples.
  11. Then you need to lubricate it with sour cream. It should cover all the slices.
  12. Put this tray into preheated oven and bake at 356 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
  13. When the pie is ready, leave it to cool down. Cut it into slices and enjoy this amusing taste. If there are any leftovers, put them into the fridge for the cream not to be spoiled.
