 Classic taco salad isn’t really healthy as you know. But it is too yummy to avoid. That is why we want to share this recipe for a light version of taco salad with all you weight-watchers.

 What makes this dish healthier? First, for cooking this dish we are going to use ground turkey or  chicken chicken - desc learn more... instead of ground beef. It is lean but still very yummy. Another important thing is that we do not use high fat toppings. Our salad dressing is fresh and tasty. What is more, as light yoghurt is added, this healthy salad is rich in protein.

Instructions:
  1. To make this yummy salad perfect, cook the tortillas beforehand. Preheat the oven to 425 F. Cover a baking tray with parchment and place tortillas into it. Sprinkle them with olive oil and dust with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. It will take 5-7 minutes to make them crunchy. Leave them to cool down. Crush tortillas into pieces.
  3. In the meantime, preheat a large frying pan with the rest of the olive oil. Add lean ground turkey into the pan. Add chili powder and garlic powder. Dust meat with salt and pepper to taste. Cook turkey, stirring everything from time to time. It will take about 5 minutes to make the meat perfect.
  4. Take a bowl and cook salad dressing in it. Mix salsa with Greek yogurt until the sauce is smooth.
  5. Wash salad leaves and put them into the large bowl. Add chilled meat, beans, canned corn, cherry tomatoes, slices of avocado, grated hard cheese, chopped onion and cilantro.
  6. Top everything with your healthy dressing. Mix everything carefully and top with the crunchy slices of tortillas.
