Onion soup soup - desc learn more... is one of the most popular French recipes. This variation of this dish is made with sweet onions and yellow onions. Caramelized vegetables make this soup extra flavorful. Here are several more ways to make this dish better and the process of cooking easier:

  • Choose good white wine. In fact, you may use the leftovers of any dry wine you have. However, if you want to improve the taste of this dish, choose a good drink. We recommend using Pinot Grigio Or Sauvignon Blanc.
  • Do not cut the onion too thin. Otherwise your soup will be mushy. Cut onion into medium-sized slices.
  • Be patient and caramelize onion slowly. Cook it over low heat without any hurry.
  • We recommend using two types of broth: chicken broth and beef broth. It will make the flavor of your soup more exquisite.

  10. Serve it in the bowls together with crunchy cheesy bread.

It`s also a good idea to serve this French dish with a glass of a good wine. Onion soup like most of creamy soups can be served with both red and white wine.

  • As we use beef stock for cooking this dish, you can easily pair your soup with red wine. The best choice is Gamay wine. One glass of fruit wine tastes great with rich flavorful soup with onion. Choose classical Beaujolais wine and enjoy this mixture of flavors.
  • White wine also tastes great with this French soup. You can choose the same whine you`ve used for cooking the soup. To surprise your friends of better half with, serve a bowl of French onion soup with Pinot Gris.
