Fish In The Slow Cooker


Steamed food is much healthier and even tastier than fried. Steamed fish tastes better as well. Here are several recipes of such dishes. You may eat it as a main meal or supplement with nutritious garnish. Use these ideas and surprise your friends with healthy and yummy fish dishes.

General rules:
If you use frozen fish, defrost it beforehand. Do not do it at the last moment. You need to unpack it and put into the strainer. Then put the strainer on the top of the bowl for your fish not to be covered with water while the ice is melting. Put this construction into the fridge and wait. When the fish is soft, you may start cooking it.
If your fish isn`t butchered, do it all by yourself. Get rid of bones and cut off head and tail. These parts may be used for cooking fish soup. If you want, you may get rid of skin as well.

  1. Fill the bowl of the slow-cooker with water and put steaming tray on the top of it. Cover it with washed dill.
  2. Wash fish carefully.
  3. Cut into slices and rub with spices from both sides.
  4. Salt it and sprinkle with juice of the half of the lemon.
  5. Put these slices on the steaming tray and cover slow-cooker with the lid.
  6. Cook this dish for 20 minutes.
