Easy Sun-Dried Tomatoes


Traditionally Italian sun-dried tomatoes were cooked on the ceramic rooftops during the whole summer. After drying they were packed and eaten during winter season. There are a lot of interesting Italian recipes with sun-dried tomatoes.

  1. First, preheat the oven to 250 F. Cover baking tray with the parchment.
  2. Wash tomatoes carefully and cut them into thick slices. Arrange all these slices on the baking tray. Sprinkle all the slices with olive oil and sea salt.
  3. Bake everything for about 3 hours. Tomatoes will dry out and become much thinner. Control the process of cooking tomatoes for they not to burn.
  4. Now take the tray out of the oven.

Store sun-dried tomatoes in the glass jar. Cover them with the olive oil. If you like, you can add all your favorite dry herbs to taste.
