Instructions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F. Lubricate the baking dish with a thin layer of butter. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thick slices. Leave them in the water so that they do not turn brown.
  2. In the meantime, preheat a thick-bottomed frying pan. Melt butter in it. Add garlic and cook it for about a minute until the melted butter becomes fragrant.
  3. Add cold cream, milk, nutmeg, salt and chopped parsley. Fry everything for a minute, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat and let the mass simmer for 10 minutes. Now remove the pan from the heat.
  4. Fill the baking dish with 1/3 of the potatoes. Add the creamy mass. Repeat the same with the leftovers of the ingredients. Add a layer of cheese on top of this casserole.
  5. Cover the baking dish with some tinfoil. Bake the dish for 40 minutes. This will help make the potato soft and juicy. Then you need to take the dish out of the oven and get rid of the foil. Continue baking the potatoes for 10-15 minutes until the top of the dish is golden.

Your simple and delicious potato dish is ready. Serve it hot with your favorite garnishes. Bon Appetit!
