Instructions:
  1. Open the cans with clams. Strain the liquid. Set them aside in a middle-sized bowl.
  2. Preheat the frying pan with oil. Cook 6 slices of bacon in it. Remove half of the fried bacon. Leave these slices on the plate, covered with parchment.
  3. Add butter into the pan with the leftovers of the fried bacon. Add chopped celery and thin slices of onion. Sauté the vegetables with the bacon for 5 minutes. The veggies will become soft.
  4. Now you need to add chopped potatoes and minced garlic into the pan. Continue cooking everything for half an hour.
  5. Add flour. Simmer all the ingredients for a minute. Now add chicken broth. You can also replace it with vegetable bouillon. Bring everything to boil and continue cooking for 15 more minutes.
  6. Now add heavy cream into the pan with the soup. Add bay leaves. Add salt and pepper to taste. If the bacon is salty enough, you can go on without salt.
  7. Add clams, the rest of bacon and cook for 5 more minutes
