Crunchy Chicken Wings Au Gratin


Baked chicken wings aren`t worse than those, cooked in the fryer. This snack is still yummy but not so fat. As poultry is covered with breadcrumbs, this dish cannot be called healthy. However, if you`re not on a diet, you may treat yourself with this simple snack.

  1. First, buy fresh chicken wings. They shouldn`t be frozen. Still, if you have no choice, try to defrost them slowly. Put chicken wings into the bowl with cold water and leave them for several hours. Then put poultry into the strainer and wash. If there are feathers left, get rid of them, using tweezers. Wipe wings, using paper towels and cut into three long strips. If you like, you may get rid of the smallest one or use it later, while cooking the broth.
  2. Now prepare the spices. You may choose any spices you like. I prefer to use hot curry, ground pepper, sumac and salt. Put all the wings into the bowl and cover them with this mixture of spices. Mix everything well and leave them for 20-30 minutes.
  3. While poultry is being marinated, prepare 3 separate bowls. Fill one with the sifted flour, another one with breadcrumbs. Take the 3d bowl and whip one egg in it.
  4. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 374-392 degrees. Take chicken wings, deep them into the flour, then into the whipped egg and finally, roll it in breadcrumbs.
  5. Cover the tray with baking paper or the tinfoil. Put chicken wings into it and bake them for 30-40 minutes at 428 degrees. Time of cooking depends on the power of your oven.
  6. When wings are ready, serve them with fragrant herbs, fresh vegetables and your favorite sauces.

By the way, you may cook chicken fillet in the same way. For it not to be too dry, use tender marinade: put it into the bowl with yoghurt and onion for an hour. Get rid of extra marinade before cooking and repeat the same steps. This snack will be very tasty as well! Bon Appetite!
