Classical American Pecan Pie. Old-Fashioned Dessert with Nuts and Sugar Syrup

  1. Sift the flour through the sieve. Mix it with the salt in the bowl of the blender.
  2. Cut cold butter into cubes and add it into the bowl of the blender as well. The dough should remind you of the simple bread crumbs. Continue mixing it for 12-15 minutes.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of vodka or water into the bowl.
  4. Turn off the blender and continue kneading the dough. Divide it into 2 parts. Form 2 balls and cover each one with the plastic wrap. Leave them in the fridge for 30-180 minutes. For cooking the pie, we will use only 1 part of the dough. If you like the taste of the desert, you may cook one more portion next time.
  5. Flatten one part of the dough and put it into the round form, sprinkled with the vegetable oil. Form small edges. Leave the form with the dough for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 392 F. Take the form out of the fridge. Bake the thin layer of the dough for 7-8 minutes. Then leave it to cool down for 45 minutes.
  7. Slow down the fire. Start cooking the filling. Mix sugar with the syrup, butter and bourbon in the big pan. Preheat this mass, stirring it constantly.
  8. Take the pan off the fire. Leave the sweet liquid to cool down. Whip eggs in the bowl. Mix these two liquids in the pan. Add vanilla and salt. Mix everything carefully, using the silicone spatula.
  9. Fill the crunchy form with the syrup and nuts. Put the form into the oven again and continue baking this dessert for 50-55 minutes.

When the pie is ready, leave it to cool down for an hour. Serve this pie with fresh vanilla icecream. Bon Appetite!
