  1. Frito pie is very easy to cook. Especially if you have leftovers of chili con carne. However, you can also cook this dish from scratch. To begin with, preheat a frying pan with a thick bottom. Add olive oil.
  2. Slowly fry ground beef in the pan, stirring constantly. When the meat is juicy and has a nice light-brown color, transfer the meat to a plate.
  3. Pour more olive oil into the pan. Add chopped onion and garlic. Dust everything with chili powder, cumin, salt and hot cayenne pepper. Mix everything carefully.
  4. In 3 minutes add ground beef into the pan again. Pour in cold beer and add your favorite tomato sauce. Reduce heat and simmer everything for about an hour.
  5. In an hour add cornmeal into the pan. This will help you to make the sauce richer. If you think that this sauce is too thick, add water into it. And if it's not thick enough, simmer it for a longer period of time.
  6. Fill the pan with Fritos and add chili on the top of this pie.
  7. Grate hard cheese and cover everything with it. Allow your easy Frito pie to stay in a warm place for several minutes. The cheese will melt in several minutes.
